Discussion Forums
Did you know that MAGIP offers 6 unique public discussion forums on our web site? Forums include Announcements, Board of Directors, General Discussion, MSDI, Technical Problems, and Tips and Tricks. A discussion forum instructions page has been created for additional information.

Please note that any visitor can read these topics, but you must be a member to create a topic!

Request for Assistance
MAGIP
is pleased to announce that a new "Request for Assistance" (embedded) web form has been created and is now available on our web site! Use this updated form to request assistance for multiple options, including hosting a user group meeting or requesting help! The form can be found as a direct link in the main menu on the home page.

Please note that you must be a MAGIP member to request assistance!

Training
Did you know that a Training page has been created within the MAGIP web site? This extensive page includes links and information related to learning GIS on your own,  acquiring personal assistance, instructor led training, and/or ongoing learning

GoToMeeting and Survey Monkey
Did you know that MAGIP has a GoToMeeting and Survey Monkey account? All MAGIP members can utilize these accounts. Just fill out the online Request for Assistance form, and our MAGIP Administrator will provide additional details for access!


GISP
Did you know that MAGIP (and MLIAC) endorsed GISP Certification in 2009? Do you need a letter of support or confirmation of participation for our events?  Just fill out the online Request for Assistance form, and our MAGIP Administrator will provide a document for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Did you know that MAGIP has created a frequently asked questions page? Accessible within the menu on the left, visit this page to find an answer to some of our frequently asked questions!

Volunteer
Did you know that you can volunteer to become a member of MAGIP's committees at any time? Share your ideas with fellow professionals, and help contribute to the MAGIP community! Volunteering is also an excellent way to obtain points for your GISP. Contact information can be found within their respective pages.


Announcements Discussion Forum

Did you know that the "Announcements" discussion forum is a great way to share news and/or accomplishments? Utilize this forum to share your interactive mapping site, a GIS service, or any other GIS-relevant news with the MAGIP community.


Subscribe to a Discussion Forum

Did you know that you can subscribe to receive notices for any/all discussion forum activities? Visit the discussion forums page for our list of forum options, select the forum of interest, and look for the "Subscribe to forum" link near the top!

Resume
Did you know that you that a resume page is available exclusively for MAGIP members within the MAGIP web site?  Additional information and instructions can be found on the Resumes page.

Policies and Procedures
Did you know that a Policies and Procedures page is available exclusively for MAGIP members within the MAGIP web site?  Developed by the Web Subcommittee, this living document serves to standardize our web content and design within the MAGIP web pages.

Board Meetings
Did you know that all MAGIP members are welcome to attend the Board of Director's meetings?  Meetings are generally held quarterly in different locations, usually from 10 a.m - 3 p.m. Please feel free to join the meetings either in person or via conference call. Board meeting information will be posted within the Board Meetings web page and on our home page.

Profile

Did you know that profile information is available within your MAGIP account? 
Sign in to the MAGIP web site and select the 'Edit profile' button to update your account information. Members can upload a personal photo, add a member bio, and highlight skills (this information is subsequently referenced for member searches and/or the Mentoring program). Remember to keep your profile updated!

Please note that you must be a MAGIP member to update your profile!

User Groups
Did you know that the MAGIP Board passed an official policy regarding MAGIP Sponsored User Groups? This one page document provides requirements for requesting and hosting a MAGIP Sponsered meeting.

Interested in hosting a User Group meeting? Download the User Group Request/Information Packet on the User Groups page, and then fill out the Request for Assistance form. Assistance includes money for meeting materials, room rentals, and/or snacks!

List-Serve and Discussion Forums
Did you know that there is a difference between the List-Serve and our Discussion Forums? The listserve is a communication tool for subscribers, regardless of MAGIP membership. Discussion Forums are used by MAGIP members as a communication and discussion tool for a variety of topics (announcements, technical issues, tips and tricks, etc.). Here are a few reminders:

 List-Serve
- Subscription-based, attachments not allowed, users should be cognizant when replying (does everyone need to see your response?)?

Discussion Forums
- For MAGIP members, topics/content archived for reference at any time, members can create and reply to topics, discussions encouraged

Did You Know?
Did you know that you that a Did You Know page exists on the MAGIP web site? This page includes an archive of all previous 'Did You Know' emails delivered via the list-serve. The page can be found within the 'Resources' menu.

In an ongoing effort to provide outreach to both MAGIP members and non-members, the Did You Know page is accessible to anyone!

GIS Day
Did you know that MAGIP will provide assistance for GIS Day-related festivities? Just fill out the new Request for Assistance web form!

Begin planning now - GIS Day is the third Wednesday in November! Don't forget to register your GIS Day Event through the GISDay web site for hosting resources!

LinkedIn Group
Did you know that MAGIP has a LinkedIn group. MAGIP is a great organization for building an awesome professional network.

Since 2010 the MAGIP LinkedIn group has provided additional opportunities for expanding and improving your professional network.

The group is used as a platform for introductions, job searches and discussions. If you haven’t already done so, please join this group and enjoy all it has to offer!
