The Mentoring Subcommittee is part of the MAGIP Professional Development Committee. This subcommittee works to implement activities and tools that assist members with mentoring, networking, skill building, career development, and troubleshooting GIS challenges.
News:
- 1/24/2012 The MAGIP GIS Mentoring program has been reviewed by the MAGIP Board and was adopted on January 24, 2012!
- 1/23/2012 The Mentoring Subcommittee has finished work on creating deliverables, guidelines, and processes for the MAGIP GIS Mentoring program. The program is slated to be announced in February 2012 and featured at the Intermountain GIS Conference in Kalispell in April.
Responsibilities:
- Promote/Maintain: The MAGIP GIS Mentoring Program and the Training Resources and Opportunities web page
- Host: "New to GIS" socials at MAGIP events
- Order and provide: "Ask Me" buttons for members to wear at MAGIP events
- Deliver: "Lost in the Vector: Finding Help/Finding Data" session at MAGIP events
- Contribute: Ideas for training, workshops, and web resources to the Professional Development Committee that MAGIP can host
