The BOD will consider a request from Bryant Ralston to authorize $100 for costs associated withe a user group meeting. Discussion will be open until May 9, at which time the Board will vote electronically to approve or disapprove the request.  The request is further  explained in the email from Bryant quoted below:

"The Missoula GIS coffeetalk user group is a loose knit group of GIS professionals, students, users, private companies, and folks interested in GIS centered in Missoula, MT.  ...dedicated and focused around the use of GIS technology in the domain of worldwide conservation...The group is extremely lucky to have Sasha Yumakeaev from Esri’s global conservation group, based in Redlands, CA attending and presenting at this event as well as other more local presenters all focused on sharing their experiences in applying GIS to conservation projects... In a nutshell our group is requesting a $100 sponsorship from MAGIP to offset the cost of food for the follow-on 2 hour networking BBQ cookout also sponsored by 3 local Missoula businesses: GeoData Services, Alter Enterprise, and GCS Research.  MAGIP would be the 4th sponsor if this sponsorship is approved.

How this event will advance the field of GIS: It is a focused, conservation community outreach event and will help us to grow new members and educate our current members and prospective members about the wide variety of projects that can benefit from a GIS approach. "

I move to have our Secretary set up a vote for the board so that a decision can be made on whether or not to fund this meeting.
