Who We Are MAGIP is a non-profit 501 (c) (06) professional association that works to identify and support the strengths of individual members, find solutions to individual and collective problems, and address the needs of the Montana GIS community as a whole. | What We Do The Association sponsors educational workshops, conferences, forums, meetups, educational grants, and scholarships. We work collectively with educators, data creators, data users, application developers and software vendors to foster technical cooperation and promote the development of sound policy and practices that will support the efficient and effective use of geographic information systems. | Our Mission To stimulate, encourage, and provide for the advancement of an interdisciplinary approach to the use of geographic information. |

Member Support for meetups, research, surveys, education, GISP support, and more is available upon request. | K-12 Education Grants are awarded to support the development and use of geographic location-based technologies. | Scholarships are offered to eligible undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at a Montana college or university. | Awards are given to recognize individuals who have made a significant contribution to the organization, the profession, and community. |
The MAGIP Board of Directors is an eleven (11) member board. The board holds monthly meetings with public attendance welcome. | Board Meetings are held virtually on a monthly basis. In-person meetings are held quarterly. All meetings are recorded and available for anyone to view. | Governing Documents for MAGIP include a Constitution and Bylaws to help guide the Board in leading and maintaining MAGIP. | Elections for board member positions are held annually in the spring with nominations beginning in April and appointments made in June. |
